Parent Involvement Specialist

Our Parent Center promotes family involvement in student’s education and foster collaborative relationships between families, the school and the community.

The Parent center provides, resources and workshops for all families to ensure student’s academic achievement and success in school and life.

Our Parent Center is in Room 804.

Volunteer Opportunities

Mt. Pleasant invites all parents to participate in Parent Committees. The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a group of elected parents and staff who collaborate with MPHS Site Council, the Principal, and School to improve the effectiveness of our English-learners Program. ELAC meets once a month in the Parent Center located in room 804.

School Site Council includes parent, community members, students, and administration and staff members. School Site Council’s primary function is in supporting and monitoring the progress of the school in fulfilling the school plan (Single Plan for Student Achievement) to ensure all students are achieving at a higher level. Non-voting members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions. School Site Council meets on the First Tuesday of each month in the in the library at 5:30 p.m. 

Parent & Community Involvement Specialist

Hello, I am Irma Jaramillo, the Parent & Community Involvement Specialist here at Mt. Pleasant High School. I am here to assist you, the parent, in any way possible. Whether it is attendance issues, academics or any other school related problems. My goal is to be a resource to parents in a way to increase participation and communication between parents, school and the community.

To ensure ongoing communication, Mt. Pleasant High School uses Schoolloop to provide parents with immediate access to their students’ grades, attendance, school programs and any activities on campus. If you have not done so, please register for a schoolloop account @ . If you are in need of any assistance in registering please contact me.

Once a month we provide a Parent Workshop that covers several topics that will assist parents in increasing their student’s academic success. All workshops are held in the Multi Purpose Room located across from the theater.
